It is worth to see the exhibition of The
Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
1904-1944 in
Zachęta National Galery of Art ( till 26th August).
‘Art is everywhere’ – in a cup, on a plate, in
a book. Anything can be considered a piece of art; from a chair or an
advertisement to an object found in urban space. The exhibition in Zachęta presents
the history of the Academy
of Fine Arts between
1904-1944. At that time artists associated with the Academy were focused on
blurring the lines between ‘pure’ and ‘applied’ arts. Additionally to the
paintings and sculptures, one can find at the exhibition excellent examples of
Polish industrial designs, advertising posters, sketches of stage design and
book graphics.
